Chaplaincy

The Mission team

We are a group of children from Key Stage 2 who meet regularly with our Catholic Life lead. We help to make sure that Living, Learning and Loving in Christ is at the heart of our school.

We talk about how we can help other children to know, love and encounter Jesus in their everyday lives. We think about ways to make prayer, worship and our Catholic faith exciting, meaningful and something that everyone can take part in.

We help to plan and lead different opportunities throughout the year. This might include helping with school Masses, Collective Worship, prayer activities and special celebrations during the Church’s year. We also help to prepare activities for important feast days and liturgical seasons, and think of creative ways for children to reflect, pray and learn more about Jesus.

We want everyone in our school to have opportunities to meet Christ through prayer, Scripture, worship, service and caring for others. Sometimes this means helping to lead worship or preparing something for a special liturgical celebration. Sometimes it means creating a quiet space for prayer or helping other children to think about how they can live out Jesus’ teachings.

We also think about how we can put our faith into action by serving others. We support activities such as collections for local foodbanks and other national and global charities such as CAFOD, and we look for ways to care for our school, our families, our parish and our wider community.

One of our projects is continuing to develop our Prayer Garden, creating a special space where children and adults can be still, pray, reflect and spend time with God. The other focus we have is to help all of our children to lead worship and participate fully, bringing them closer to God.

We are excited to keep helping our school community to grow in faith and to discover that Jesus is with us in all that we do.

Our aim

To help everyone in our school encounter Christ, grow in faith and discover how they can make a difference in the world.
