The school encourages a healthy eating policy. A piece of fresh fruit or vegetable is
provided for each child to eat mid-morning. This is kindly bought for the children by
The Friends of the School. Milk is also available free of charge for children aged
under five years old.

Children may have a school lunch or a packed lunch. School meals are cooked on the
premises and children may choose from a main course or jacket potato and salad
option. The menu for the week is on display on the school website and on the notice
board at the front of school to help you decide. If your child has a special dietary
requirement and would like a school lunch please contact the school office. Children
may also bring a packed lunch but please ensure that they contain a healthy balance
including a savoury sandwich and water to drink. We discourage parents from bringing
packed lunches that are too heavily loaded with sugar and treats.

We ask parents not to send anything containing nuts to school. We have children who
are allergic to nuts and ensure our school is a ‘NUT FREE ZONE’.
A team of experienced Midday Supervisors look after the children in the dining room
and on the playground during the lunchtime break.

School dinners, for children in Years 3 to 6, should be paid via ParentPay. If your child
is absent from school, the money will be credited to your account.

All children in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 are entitled to receive a free school meal
every day. It is a government incentive and is being paid for nationally. Your child does
not have to have a school meal; you may send your child with a packed lunch. Free
school meals are available to those children from Reception to Year 6 who are eligible.

 

Information regarding Parentpay

Parentpay is a secure online system that replaces cash payments for school meals, trips, events and activities in our school.   It can also be used to provide permission for school trips and activities.

Parentpay is easy to use, secure and protects your details.

You can top up your account when you want, so you can budget money for lunches, trips and activities. You can top up online or with cash at your local PayPoint.

Using ParentPay to pay for meals, trips or other school expenses means your child doesn’t have to bring cash with them to school.

Getting started

When your child starts school, you will receive a letter with your activation details and instructions on how to set up your ParentPay account.

If you have more than one child at a school or have children at different schools that use the ParentPay system, you can add them into one single account and have one login for all your children.

Free School Meals

From the 1st June 2026 your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

  • Universal Credit
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

A pupil is only eligible to receive a free school meal where both:

  • a claim for this support has been made
  • their eligibility has been verified by the school where they are enrolled or by the local authority
