At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School we teach with Christ at the centre of everything that we do. All children and staff take part in daily collective worship, where they prayer together as either a whole school, key stage or class.

Collective Worship

Collective Worship  celebrates God’s presence in our lives. Children are fully involved in planning and delivering Whole School, Key Stage and Class Liturgies.

Whole School Collective Worship

Mr Eddy leads the whole school in Collective Worship every Monday. The theme is usually closely linked with the liturgical year so that all members of the school community have an understanding of the readings, colours and messages we listen to and see on Sunday at Mass.

Annual Liturgies

Annual Liturgies take place throughout the year.  We celebrate Masses with our parish priest, Father Tim Byewater, at St Joseph’s church at various times in the liturgical year.  Parents and parishioners are invited to join us when we celebrate Mass together. The themes include:  Remembrance,  Advent, Lent and Holy Week.

Key Stage Collective Worship

Once a week, Key Stage 2 Collective Worships occurs. These are fully planned and led by different groups of children.

Once a week EYFS/Key Stage 1 Collective Worship occurs. These are planned and led in by a combination of staff and children.

These Collective Worships are based around special feasts in the church’s year as well as the weekly Gospels.
